Progress...

Whew! I've finished the major revisions on my manuscript and have been going over it in polish mode the last week.  I'm happy to say it's in a lot better shape than I thought it was by the time I wrapped up. Can you believe it; twenty-eight chapters in two weeks.  All the thanks goes to my darlings here at home.  My husband and son were the best sports while I practically lived on my computer trying to get everything just right.

By the time I finished my last chapter, I was pretty sure everything was terrible. You know how you get when you've been staring at something FOREVER and everything about it looks like rubbish.  Well, that's how I was feeling last Friday.  But, after a nice relaxing weekend break--mine and my husband's wedding anniversary--I came back to it, and was surprised at how easily I was sucked back into it.

Anyway, when I'm through with this stage of revisions (hopefully next week), I'm handing it off to my very dear friend, Ashley--a member of my writing group and a fantastic editor, who will go over it for me.  When that's done, even if I haven't heard back from Shadow Mountain, I'm going to slam the agent market with query letters.  My summer will be full of repeated high hopes, dashed dreams and hopefully the one offer of representation which is really all it takes.  Wish me luck!

Cheers!

  1. Hannah, you are a remarkable writer, and your story is fantastic! I can't wait to read the manuscript again, or get the final published version that is sure to come! You are very inspiring, and have motivated me to get back to writing as well. Good luck with everything, and please let me know if I can do anything to help.
