Alright Everyone,
I might be premature in putting this out there, but I feel like I want to give you all an update on how Book 2 in the Cobbogoth series is coming. So far it's coming along much better than I expected. After having spent 5 years writing the first book, that's not really saying much. But, I suppose Cobbogoth was much more about learning how to write a book, and now that I've got that under my belt, things are moving along a lot faster and smoother than I anticipated.
That being said, KinStone Publishing is still planning on a late 2013 release, because all of the design work and everything still has to happen, which takes time. But, things are looking good otherwise.
I guess I'm mostly relieved, because I wasn't sure how quickly I was going to be able to write Book 2 on account of the fact that I've never written a second book in a series. However, what I'm finding is that part of the reason Cobbogoth took so long to write, is because I had to make my world fit in our world and with our world's rules in order to make it believable. Now that I'm in New Cobbogoth, I get to make up the rules. That's very liberating.
Unfortunately, hiccups can still happen along the way. For instance, I could get finished writing this first draft and my good friends (who know that I love them enough that they can tell me the truth) might inform me that what I thought was a work of genius when I was the only person reading it, is, in fact, complete rubbish. That would probably set me back a bit. But since I run everything by my husband--who bores easily when I read to him and so far has been pretty excited about what I've been reading him--I think we're in good shape.
Seriously though, I can't wait to introduce you all to the world of New Cobbogoth! Once I've completed the first draft, I'm fairly certain I can reveal Book 2's title to you all, which will thrill me to no end.
That said, what are all you aspiring writers working on right now? Post a link to your blog and I'd love to come check it out. It'll give me something to look forward to during my writing breaks! :)
It sounds like things are going well!
ReplyDeleteI must admit to some excited squealing while reading this. :)
I hope everything continues to run smoothly for you!
"I must admit to some excited squealing"
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud at that part, Erisnyx! I'll admit that I've been doing a bit of excited squealing myself. Thanks for checking in!
Cobbogoth was a great read and left wanting to know what happens next... thanks for maing it a free read on kindle! I will definitely be looking for the next book.
ReplyDeleteRoslyn, I'm so glad you liked Cobbogoth! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteWhen my aunt gave me a signed copy of Cobbogoth, I set it on the shelf and didn't pick it for a while. But when I did, I loved it. It was the greatest story I have read since Hex Hall. You are a wonderfully talented author.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Nyxsedi! I'm so glad you liked it. Keep an eye out for Book 2, The Lemorian Crest. It will be out next month. :-)
