Giveaway and a Gift

So I've really procrastinated this post, but I have a bit of news:

First of all, Kathryn at www.cleanteenfiction.blogspot.com is giving away a free copy of Cobbogoth and has been so generous to offer anyone following my blog an extra entry.  Just so this is clear, you can enter to win twice if you follow my blog, too!  Head over and check it out!

Secondly, I was recently awarded this very distinguished honor by one Shalynne at Authors Anonymous!  I have  never received an award for my blog and therefore am thoroughly honored. I admit, however, that this award really belongs to my lovely sister and extremely talented graphic designer, Bekah Shakespear.  She's the one who made my blog and website worthy of this award. So, Bek, consider this yours.

That being said, I encourage you all to go check out Shaylynne's blog.  I've been privileged to read some of her writing, and the girl has definitely got talent!  Keep an eye on her, because you might just be hearing about her sooner than you think. :)

Now, I've been told that in receiving a blog award, it is customary to pay the award forward, if you will, and therefore, I must not break with cyber tradition.  I whole-heartedly present this award to Erika Bartlett at The Pink Sued Shoe.  Now, she's not a writer, like unto myself and Shaylynne, but she is truly one of the most creative people I have ever met in my life.  Just check out her blog and you'll see what I mean.  There is no end to the amazing things she comes up with.

Finally, I had my first speaking engagement as a bonified authoress a few weeks ago.  It was with a book group who read Cobbogoth as their monthly book.  They were so nice! And for the most part, I think they all enjoyed the book.  I was going to do a fantastic post about it right after it happened, with pictures and everything, but I was so nervous, I forgot to take pictures. I will say this, the food was truly amazing. Thanks, Eve!

This speaking engagement has spurred a pattern it seems and this week I was invited to two more speaking engagements in February.  My blog tour begins on the 20th, and so next month is promising to be pretty busy.  This is very exciting!  I'm actually starting to feel like a real authoress.

Anyway, I'll be sure to post a schedule of speaking engagements here or on my website, so that if any of you care to come hear me speak, or would like me to come and speak at your own event--which I'd be truly thrilled, flattered and honored to do--you'll be able to schedule accordingly.

Well, that's all for now!

  3. I'd enter your drawing but I already have my copy so I'll just watch smugly as everyone else scrambles for theirs :)
Also I finished "Elantris" and have every intention of doing my next book review on it. It was simply incredible, and my brother even loved it...and that's saying something.
Keep up the good work! You're a inspiration!
